Meet the Team

Sophia Jelsma, Author

Sophia Jelsma, LCSW wrote this book for children and their families to begin asking themselves how they want to be in the world. She grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. As a child, she aspired to become a physician one day, just like her grandfather. She attended medical school in Chicago before career pivoting into social work. Now, she works with emerging adults on answering the pivotal question: “How do you want to be when you grow up?” She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Connie Pulliam, Illustrator

Connie Pulliam is an artist and illustrator working across a variety of artistic mediums. She studied photography and French in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before attaining her masters in art direction from a school in Paris, France. Connie has also worked teaching English in French elementary schools and creating summer programs for children and teens in Michigan which inspired her to continue to make a positive impact in children's lives through her illustrations. She currently lives in Paris, France, with her cat, Gigi.
